# Game Goal

Mothora is a **free-to-play-to-own game** where a fight between three [**DAOs**](https://mothora.gitbook.io/mothora/fundamentals/daos) is permanently happening, during a season.&#x20;

In each game season, **these** **DAOs** are tasked to augment the efficiency of their [**$ESSENCE**](https://mothora.gitbook.io/mothora/fundamentals/economic-loops/usdessence) [**Reactors**](https://mothora.gitbook.io/mothora/fundamentals/economic-loops/essence-reactors)**.** A DAO's goal is to make their **Reactor** the most efficient in extracting $ESSENCE from Mothora and have the highest collective [**Social Reputation**](https://mothora.gitbook.io/mothora/fundamentals/economic-loops/srep-social-reputation), to win.

**Guilds** of each [**DAO**](https://mothora.gitbook.io/mothora/fundamentals/daos) have to strategize and coordinate to create [**NFTs**](https://mothora.gitbook.io/mothora/fundamentals/economic-loops) that maximize the productivity of their Reactor. Some guilds want to spend time augmenting their crafting skills to produce NFTs faster than others. Other guilds will want to specialize in coordinating cross-time zones to always retain control over key resources. There will also be Guilds specialized in combat and the strength of numbers, seeking rapid tactical control over areas of the map.

This means that different strategies can be executed, allowing for a **variety of play styles**.

The game map itself would allow its zones to be controlled by different **DAOs**. Each of these zones contains[ **Essence** **Extractors**, **Pipelines** and **Crystallisers**](https://mothora.gitbook.io/mothora/fundamentals/nfts/deed-nfts-crystallisers-extractors-and-pipelines) of different sizes and formats, imbued with the planet’s energy. Controlling these game elements is key to determining winners of $ESSENCE.

These areas can become contested when they are subject to attack by players of opposing DAOs. The contested zones will be marked on the map, and players will be able to employ different strategies to capture these areas. Zones can be contested by one or two opposing DAOs at the same time.&#x20;

Guild leaders will also be able to have special roles during a season to support strategies, like speaking in a dedicated battle channel that anyone can read and drawing movements on the map that players from the same side can see.
