The discovery of Mothora
Earth was already on the verge of dying for the past 100 years. There had been global conflict leading into World War 3 (WW3) and World War 4 (WW4), leaving the earth devastated by war. Nations were fighting over natural resources, economies were crashing globally and the world was in a state of crisis.
Following WW4, a group of private sector military companies colluded together behind the backs of their governments and overthrew them. These companies had the majority of wealth as they had profited from two wars. They began to devise a plan to save themselves as well as other people, but their catch was that they were planning for galactic expansion.
In the year 2453, The Conglomerate, a capitalistic-focused faction based out of Earth, was in the midst of what they called “The Great Expansion”. They began to colonize planet by planet, enslaving the populations to help expand their planetary conquest. With the expanse of territory over dozens of planets, they knew they could not carry out their plan for expansion without more resources. They needed more resources to sustain their military, and the occupied territories were used for research and development purposes. In the year 2456, The Conglomerate launched their galactic conquest for self-preservation.
In the year 2459, The Conglomerate arrived at the doorsteps of Mothora. This unique planet caught the attention of the faction when after sending several probes it was realised that Mothora possessed some of the most valuable natural resources to date. Knowing this, they decided to double down and focus all of their efforts on taking this planet, even if it meant halting the rest of their expansion. Between 2459 and 2460, The Conglomerate had set up several strategic military positions in the farthermost positions on the planet, as well as some mining operations to begin the process of extracting Mothora’s natural resources.
