Soulbound NFTs: Shards, Conduits and Rods

Three kinds of NFTs, all Soulbound

When staking soulbound NFTs in a Reactor, the smart contract will verify if the NFT belongs to the DAO of the Reactor to which the staking request is being made. If not, it is denied.

Shards

• Give a personal player boost.

• Shards are obtained from $ESSENCE at Crystallisers. There’s a unique Crystalliser in each of Mothora’s regions controlled by a DAO at a given time.

• By successfully interacting with Crystallisers and paying an $ESSENCE fee, a signature is generated by the Mothora backend.

• This is then verified in the mint function of the shard soulbound NFT.

• Shards can also be directly staked in Reactors for a direct personal boost.

Conduits & Rods

• Give a DAO-wide boost.

• They are crafted by using shards at appropriate crafting centers.

• Require certain levels of crafting experience to create.

• When conditions are met, a signature is generated by the Mothora backend.

• This signature is then verified in the mint function of the consumable soulbound NFT.

• For Conduits: Players are required to coordinate to keep the consumable staked at all times (as its effect dies out frequently).
